The oldest park in Bucharest, located in the heart of the city, Cismigui park is a 17-hectare large green haven, also making it the largest park in the city.

Even since it was opened in 1860, the paths and trails in this park have been a much-loved spot for the Bucharest high society. Not only that, but it has inspired many poets and artists and it's the perfect place to grab a bargain from a street vendor.

A Stroll in the Park

Tucked within the abundant and luscious vegetation, there are numerous sculptures to be found in the park, including the Monument to the French Heroes, in honour of the French soldiers who lost their lives in World War One. Plus there are also busts are the country's main authors, many of which have been inspired by the park's peacefulness when creating their masterpieces.

Cismigiu Park is often used as a meeting place for locals and tourists who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, especially on warm, sunny days. In fact, in the summer months, you'll often find open-air street entertainers and different activities taking place for everyone to enjoy.

In winter, the park is also popular, as the lake completely freezes and becomes an incredibly beautiful ice skating rink
